Circus Performer Injured by Arrow During Performance

A circus performer was airlifted to the hospital after an accident involving a crossbow during a live performance at the Orange County Fair in Wallkill, New York, on Friday at approximately 9:30 p.m. Ana Daza Tavera, 42, fired an arrow at a foam target held by Edwin Cuervo Rangel, 38, but the arrow missed and struck Rangel in the neck. Emergency services were called, and the audience was evacuated from the tent. Circus Murcia ringmaster Benjamin Jackson stated that the arrow struck Rangel at the corner of his neck without causing blood loss. He was transported to Westchester Medical Center and is reported to be in stable condition following surgery. Circus owner Alexander Murcia confirmed that Rangel is expected to make a full recovery.
