Shannon O’Connor Sentenced to 35 Years for Child Endangerment and Related Charges

<p>Shannon O’Connor, known as the "Los Gatos Party Mom," was sentenced to 35 years in prison by the Santa Clara County Superior Court on Thursday. This sentencing followed a jury's conviction on 48 felony charges, including child endangerment and furnishing alcohol to minors. Victims and their parents provided statements in court detailing the trauma and manipulation they experienced during the parties O’Connor hosted at her home in Silicon Valley.</p><p>During the proceedings, one victim, referred to as "Jane Doe 4," expressed the emotional impact of O’Connor's actions, stating, "For me what happened took away so many happy parts of who I was." O’Connor, 52, received 29 years and four months for felony charges and an additional six years for misdemeanor charges.</p><p>O’Connor addressed the court, apologizing to the victims and their families while denying any sexual interest in minors. She acknowledged the pain caused by her actions and the toll on her own family, stating, "I live every day wishing I could take everything back." O’Connor also described the negative impact the case had on her children and husband.</p><p>In court, several parents testified about the effects of O’Connor's actions on their children, including substance abuse and emotional distress. One mother, Kate Doe, reported that her daughter developed a substance abuse problem after attending the parties. Another family described how their son became severely intoxicated at one of the gatherings.</p><p>Deputy District Attorney Joanna Lee had requested a sentence of 41 years and 10 months, emphasizing the need for appropriate punishment for the crimes committed. The court heard testimonies that accused O’Connor of grooming teenagers and creating an environment where minors engaged in sexual conduct and consumed alcohol.</p><p>The prosecution's sentencing memorandum highlighted the serious nature of O’Connor's actions, alleging that she endangered the safety of minors and coordinated their sexual assaults. Santa Clara County District Attorney Jeff Rosen stated that O’Connor did not protect the children and attempted to prevent them from speaking out about the incidents.</p>
