American Red Cross announces national blood supply crisis

The organization reported that blood donations have dropped to a four-year low for the summer, resulting in less than one day's supply of type O positive blood, which is the most commonly transfused blood type. This announcement was made on Monday by the non-profit, which is the largest single provider of blood products in the United States.
