Surveillance video has emerged showing Elizabeth "Liz" Waddell, a 43-year-old physical therapist from Cary, North Carolina, moments before she possibly entered the water at a Grenada resort. Waddell went missing on July 22 while on vacation with a friend. The video, shared by her family, shows a person resembling Waddell walking near a pool and then entering the water for a swim. This footage is believed to be from an Airbnb property's surveillance system and may depict the last time she was seen alive.
Cailen Waddell, her husband, stated that despite extensive search efforts, they have not found her. He expressed belief, after consulting with family and local authorities, that there was no foul play involved in her disappearance. He has been actively searching with authorities since arriving in Grenada two days after she went missing.
Randy Connaught, commissioner of the Royal Grenada Police Force, mentioned in a news conference that no conclusions have been reached regarding Waddell's disappearance. The police have employed dive teams, drones, and dogs in their search efforts. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are encouraging anyone with information to come forward.
