Several people were killed on Saturday afternoon in a shooting near an In-N-Out restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, according to local authorities. The incident occurred shortly before 2:30 p.m. local time when a shooter opened fire, resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries. The shooter is reported to be among the deceased, as stated by Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks during a news conference on Saturday night.
Law enforcement is currently interviewing numerous witnesses who were in the vicinity of the restaurant at the time of the shooting. Chief Hicks mentioned that the exact number of fatalities has not been confirmed, as notifications to next-of-kin are still being made. Several individuals are receiving treatment for injuries at St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center.
An FBI spokesperson indicated that the agency is assisting with the ongoing investigation. Police have closed nearby roads and a bridge as part of the emergency response. Twin Falls is located approximately two hours from Boise.
