Sen. Mark Kelly Criticizes U.S. Iran War Strategy

Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ) has called for a reevaluation of the U.S. strategy regarding the ongoing conflict in Iran. In an interview with CBS News, Kelly criticized President Donald Trump for engaging in the conflict without a clear strategic goal and expressed concern over the U.S. munitions shortage due to military actions in Tehran. He stated, 'They’re flailing, they’re stuck, they’re responsible for this, and the president is the one that has to try to figure out a way out of this.' Kelly suggested that the administration should not rely on individuals without diplomatic experience, such as U.S. special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, for negotiations. He emphasized the need for experienced diplomats to engage with Iran and rebuild alliances. Kelly has been vocal in his criticism of the Iran war since it began in February. In a recent post, Trump mentioned that he called off planned airstrikes against Iran following discussions with Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries, citing a framework for a potential peace deal.
