Similarly, an AP-NORC poll showed a 33% approval rating, a decline of 4 percentage points from the previous poll conducted by the same organization. Both polls were conducted from July 23 to July 27, with Quinnipiac's survey involving 963 respondents and a margin of error of 4.1 percentage points, while AP-NORC's included 1,165 respondents and a margin of error of 3.7 percentage points.
Additionally, an Economist/YouGov poll released on July 28 found that 34% of Americans approved of Trump's job performance, the lowest rating in their tracking since he returned to office. A CNN/SSRS poll also reported a 34% approval rating, matching his previous low after the January 6, 2021 Capitol riots.
Both the Quinnipiac and AP-NORC polls revealed significant opposition to the ongoing war in Iran, with 60% of respondents in the Quinnipiac poll opposing the war and 74% against sending U.S. ground troops. The AP-NORC poll found that 64% of Americans believed the war has not been worthwhile, with 87% of Democrats, 68% of Independents, and 37% of Republicans agreeing.
Polling averages show Trump in negative territory overall, with RealClearPolitics reporting 39.7% approval and 58.1% disapproval, while the New York Times reported 38% approval and 59% disapproval as of July 30.
