Jurors in the murder trial of Lindsay Clancy visited the Massachusetts home where her three children were killed on Friday. This court-supervised visit aimed to help the jury understand the timeline and setting of the case, according to retired Massachusetts judge Jack Lu. The jury retraced the route taken by Clancy's ex-husband, Patrick, and toured the family home in Duxbury for approximately 40 minutes. They observed the basement where the children were found and the yard where Clancy was discovered after an incident that left her paralyzed.
Lu noted that such visits are common in homicide trials, especially those involving multiple deaths, as they provide context for the jurors. He emphasized that the visit could assist jurors in assessing the time Patrick Clancy spent away from the home and understanding the locations discussed during the trial.
The prosecution alleges that Lindsay Clancy intentionally sent her husband on errands to facilitate the killings, while her defense argues that she was suffering from severe postpartum psychosis at the time. Following the site visit, jurors heard emotional testimony from emergency room doctors regarding the treatment of the children. The trial is scheduled to continue on Monday.
