Georgia mother reports car theft with toddler inside; suspect arrested

On July 30, a Georgia mother reported her car stolen with her 2-year-old daughter inside while she was delivering an Instacart order. The 911 call, released by the Atlanta Police Department, captures the mother's distress as she informs the dispatcher that her daughter is in the backseat of the vehicle. Police quickly located the stolen car and the child using license plate readers within 15 minutes. Officers arrested 21-year-old Saleem Martin, who faces multiple charges including kidnapping and theft. The child was unharmed and reunited with her mother. An arrest warrant indicated that the toddler had mentioned Martin's actions during the incident, and he claimed he was trying to calm her down.
