Kentucky Teacher Arrested for Alleged Grooming of Student Under New Law

A middle school teacher in Kentucky has been arrested following allegations of inappropriate conduct with a student. Sadie M. Flores, 25, from Mayfield, was taken into custody on Friday and charged with grooming a minor, a Class D felony under a new Kentucky law that became effective on July 15. The Graves County Sheriff's Office reported that Flores, employed at Graves County Middle School, is accused of having an improper relationship with a student. The allegations were reported to the school administration, which promptly notified law enforcement, leading to a criminal investigation. The investigation involved the seizure of electronic records and interviews. Flores was interviewed and arrested around 3:30 p.m. on Friday. She was initially booked into the Graves County Restricted Custody Center and later transferred to an out-of-county detention facility. Sheriff Jon Hayden stated that the investigation is ongoing. Graves County Schools Superintendent Matt Madding confirmed that the district is cooperating with law enforcement and emphasized that student safety is the top priority.
