Three dead in domestic-related homicide at Minneapolis-area daycare

Three individuals, including a child, were found deceased in a domestic-related homicide at an in-home daycare near Minneapolis on Wednesday, according to local police. Hopkins Police Chief Brent Johnson reported that officers responded to a domestic situation around 9 a.m. at Brown Bear Daycare, where they discovered the bodies of a man, a woman, and a child. All three victims are believed to be family members. Six other children present at the daycare were unharmed and have been reunited with their families. A parent who arrived to drop off a child called the police and is believed to have witnessed the incident. Johnson stated, "There's no worse scenario than this, where you drop off your child to somewhere you think is safe, and you get that phone call." The Hopkins Police Department later confirmed that they responded to a report of a stabbing at the daycare and indicated that there are no outstanding suspects or ongoing threats to the public. Johnson mentioned that investigators believe the deceased male was the perpetrator and took his own life. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey expressed condolences and offered assistance, stating, "The City of Minneapolis stands with Hopkins." Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty noted that their victim services division is prepared to support those affected by the incident.
