Concerns have been raised by families about the living conditions and mental health of sailors aboard the Lincoln, which has been deployed for over 250 days without a port call since leaving San Diego last November. Senator Richard Blumenthal noted that this deployment has set a modern-day record for consecutive days at sea.
In response to these concerns, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth stated that conditions on the Lincoln had been misrepresented, emphasizing the support provided to the crew. He expressed respect for the sailors' service under challenging conditions.
