Suspect Arrested Following Shooting at Virginia State University

Virginia police arrested a 19-year-old suspect, Camron Harris, in connection with a shooting at Virginia State University that occurred on Saturday. Harris, who is not a student at the university and is from Henrico, Virginia, was found hiding in a closet in a campus dormitory after a manhunt. The shooting resulted in five individuals being wounded, with one in critical condition. Police have not released the names of the victims, but confirmed that only one is a university student. Harris faces felony charges including four counts of malicious wounding and four counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony. He is currently held without bail at Chesterfield County Jail and may face additional charges. The shooting took place early Saturday morning, and police responded to reports of gunfire around 1:28 a.m. outside the university's residence halls. The campus lockdown has since been lifted, and the university has increased police presence as the investigation continues.
