Police in Georgia have arrested Lakesha Brown, a babysitter accused of kidnapping two young sisters, Zola Cooper, 4, and Norah Cooper, 11 months. The girls were reported missing by their mother around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday after she was unable to contact Brown, who had been babysitting them since 6 p.m. that evening. The City of Atlanta Police Department confirmed that the girls were safely recovered by officers using technology that directed them to the Sylvan Road area, where they found the children crying and brought them to safety.
Brown has a prior history of similar offenses, having been accused of kidnapping a newborn in Alabama in August 2021. In that case, she allegedly gained the trust of the infant's mother and grandmother before taking the child while the mother was napping. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office reported that when the mother awoke, the baby was missing, and Brown was also gone. Investigators later recovered the infant safely, and Brown was arrested.
