An Air Force service member died Saturday after falling during a pregame rappelling demonstration at the Alamodome before the University of Texas at San Antonio's football game against Navy, according to multiple reports. The airman was taken to a hospital after the fall, The Daily Beast reported.

The demonstration was part of UTSA's annual Salute to Armed Forces and Veterans ceremony. Four officers had been scheduled to rappel onto the field about 15 minutes before kickoff, Fox News reported. Fox said the airman was assigned to the 6th Combat Training Squadron, Detachment 2, at Nellis Air Force Base, and that the military was investigating. The New York Post reported that the Air Force had identified the airman, while Fox reported that his identity had not been released.
