Alaska Democratic Senate candidate Mary Peltola again denied involvement in reported efforts to add candidates to the state’s ballot, according to The Hill, as the issue became part of the campaign ahead of Election Day.
At a Friday rally, Peltola said she was deeply offended by accusations that she had been involved, The Hill reported. She did not address investigations into the matter, the outlet said. Sullivan, appearing on CNN’s “State of the Union” two days before Election Day, said Peltola had been informed about the effort and accused her of lying; Peltola has denied the allegation. The New York Times reported that Democrats’ effort to influence the ballot for Peltola’s Senate bid could strengthen support for a referendum to end ranked-choice voting in Alaska.
