Anthropic disclosed documents for an initial public offering with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday, beginning preparations to go public. The filing did not state the company’s valuation, the offering price or the number of shares, according to Mother Jones.
The prospectus says Anthropic has nearly $650 billion in computing obligations, Axios reported. It also identified competition for electricity and data-center sites as a risk, stating, “Competition for access to electrical supply and data center locations with adequate power availability is intense.” Wired reported that the filing omitted several financial details. Mother Jones said the offering is expected around mid-November; it cited investor estimates of a $1.5 trillion to $2 trillion valuation.
