Comedian and talk show host Bill Maher said Friday that he supported having dinners with President Donald Trump after criticism of his second White House dinner, held Oct. 15. Maher made the remarks during the opening monologue of HBO’s “Real Time,” Fox News reported.
Fox News said sports commentator Stephen A. Smith and musician Kid Rock also attended the dinner. Maher’s first dinner with Trump was in April 2025. Separately, The Hill reported that Maher told former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt that he liked Trump’s proposed East Wing ballroom, saying the country needed a ballroom despite Democratic criticism.
