Drone attacks sank a cargo ship and damaged another in Bulgaria’s exclusive economic zone on October 6, according to reports, while the fate of crew members and the number of vessels sunk differed between accounts. The incidents occurred about 80 miles (128 kilometers) from Bulgaria’s coast, Ars Technica reported, citing the Associated Press.

Ars Technica said the Togo-flagged Alfa Watan sank and the Palau-flagged Able caught fire after multiple sea and aerial drones struck them. Fox News reported that one commercial ship sank, its crew disappeared, and a second vessel was heavily damaged and set ablaze. Ars Technica’s headline said two cargo ships sank and at least two sailors were killed. Fox News said Zelenskyy blamed Russia and warned of a possible broader strike.
