Vice President JD Vance said Thursday that he would support eliminating the H-1B visa program, describing it as broken and saying employers have used it to replace American workers with lower-paid foreign labor. He made the comments in an interview with conservative influencer Jack Posobiec aboard Air Force Two.

Vance said, “My view is the H-1B program is completely broken, and I’d be very supportive of just eliminating it.” He said that as long as the program remains in place, American workers should be protected. Vance said the program had been taken advantage of by technology companies and accounting employers. He acknowledged that some people were frustrated and urged them to ask their members of Congress to change the program.
