A fire engulfed the Kehlsteinhaus, known as the Eagle’s Nest, in Bavaria on Friday evening, and police arrested a 33-year-old German man on suspicion of arson. No injuries were reported, and the building was left almost entirely gutted, according to the Daily Wire and the New York Times.

About 200 firefighters and other emergency personnel were deployed to the remote mountain site, reports said. Fox News said crews fought the fire amid strong winds and that the suspect was taken to a psychiatric facility after showing signs of mental illness. Police had not ruled out a political motive, Fox News reported. Authorities were continuing efforts to put out the blaze, Deutsche Welle said.
