Attacks on airports in Riyadh and Abha, Saudi Arabia, killed three people and wounded dozens over two days, Saudi aviation authorities said, after the Houthis claimed responsibility.
Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation said two people were killed and 28 wounded at Abha International Airport, while one person was killed and eight wounded at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. It said the airports were attacked on 6 and 7 October. Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the group struck King Khalid airport with a ballistic missile and disrupted operations. The Houthis said their Riyadh attack killed three people and injured several others, differing from the Saudi authority's account of casualties there.
The attacks came as fighting between Saudi-backed, internationally recognised Yemeni government forces and the Iran-backed Houthis renewed and spread across Yemen's border, the BBC reported.
