Idaho voters rejected a ballot measure that would have protected abortion access up to fetal viability, leaving the state’s current near-total prohibition in place, according to Decision Desk HQ projections cited by The Hill.
The measure would have established reproductive-access protections until viability, described as about 23 to 24 weeks. The Washington Examiner reported that the measure lost by 12 percentage points, calling Idaho the only state where opponents of abortion access prevailed among four state ballot contests.
Vox reported that voters in Missouri, Nevada and Virginia supported abortion access on Tuesday. The reports did not provide final vote totals for those states.
