Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said his department has submitted a “large case” to the Justice Department as federal investigators examine allegations involving Rep. Ilhan Omar’s immigration paperwork. Omar has not been charged, Breitbart reported.
Mullin said Homeland Security Investigations conducted extensive work before prosecutors took the lead. According to a court filing cited by Breitbart, the inquiry includes other unidentified individuals. Agents searched Omar’s Washington residence and, the same day, searched the home of her sister, Sahra Noor, removing boxes of documents. Fox News reported investigators are examining whether Omar improperly obtained U.S. citizenship through allegedly fraudulent paperwork involving her late father.
