Former special counsel Jack Smith is scheduled to testify Tuesday before the Senate Judiciary Committee, with the hearing set to begin at 9 a.m. EDT.

Smith will be the sole witness at a hearing titled “Oversight of Jack Smith’s Abuse of Authority and the Targeting of Republicans and Related Matters,” according to the Washington Examiner. Republican lawmakers have called for potential criminal prosecution, alleging that Smith made misleading or false statements in prior congressional testimony about records obtained during his investigation of President Donald Trump. Rep. Jim Jordan referred the matter to the Justice Department, PBS reported.

Smith’s lawyers denied the allegation and said his testimony was truthful, according to PBS. The appearance follows Smith’s January testimony before the House Judiciary Committee.
