Hong Kong activist Joshua Wong was sentenced to 10 years in prison, reports said, in his second conviction under a national security law imposed by Beijing.
NPR reported that the sentence followed Wong's second conviction under the law. The BBC said Wong, 30, is among hundreds of Hongkongers detained under it. Deutsche Welle described the term as 10 more years and said Wong has spent much of his adult life in prison.
Wong became known as a teenage student leader and was associated with Hong Kong's pro-democracy movement. NPR said critics view the case as part of a crackdown on that movement.
