President Donald Trump announced Friday that Katie Zacharia will become White House press secretary, replacing Karoline Leavitt.
Zacharia previously worked as a Department of Homeland Security spokeswoman and deputy assistant secretary for public affairs. She had more recently been a senior communications adviser to Truth Social, according to Deutsche Welle and the Daily Mail. In a Truth Social announcement, Trump called her a “loyal and brilliant supporter” and a member of the Make America Great Again movement.
Zacharia said on X and Truth Social that the appointment was “the honor of a lifetime.” She will take over the White House briefing role vacated by Leavitt.
