Two women filed a federal civil lawsuit Thursday in Florida accusing former Rep. Matt Gaetz and two other men of sex trafficking and sexual exploitation, according to multiple reports. The case was filed in the Middle District of Florida.

The anonymous plaintiffs, identified as Jane Doe 1 and Jane Doe 2, also sued Joel Greenberg, a former Seminole County tax collector, and former Florida state Rep. Chris Dorworth. They allege the men recruited and exploited them from 2017 through January 2019, while Gaetz was in Congress. The Washington Examiner reported that the complaint alleges Gaetz paid the two plaintiffs about $10,000 for sexual encounters and that drugs were offered.

The complaint cites a House Ethics Committee report that, according to ms.now, found Gaetz paid roughly a dozen women for sex between 2017 and 2020. It also references Greenberg’s plea agreement involving commercial sex acts with a minor, ms.now reported.
