The Milwaukee Brewers celebrated their first World Series championship at Lambeau Field on Thursday night, less than 24 hours after defeating the Tampa Bay Rays for the title. Pitcher Brandon Woodruff carried the Commissioner’s Trophy onto the field after the first quarter of the Green Bay Packers’ game against the Carolina Panthers.
Christian Yelich and Sal Frelick joined Woodruff for the appearance. Fox News reported that Frelick attempted a Lambeau Leap, drawing a positive response from spectators. The championship was the first in the franchise’s 58 seasons; the club began as the Seattle Pilots in 1969, according to NPR.
