Republican Sen. Susan Collins and Democratic challenger Troy Jackson exchanged sharp remarks Thursday during their final Maine Senate debate in Bangor after a protester interrupted the event. Collins said the demonstrator was “obviously one of Troy’s supporters,” and Jackson replied, “Oh, shut up,” before saying he did not know the protester.

The protester shouted about artificial intelligence and data centers, according to the Daily Wire. The candidates also debated President Trump, campaign financing, immigration reform and their voting records, The Hill reported. The event was the fourth and final debate of the race, according to the Washington Examiner, as Maine voters prepare to go to the polls.
