Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy was hospitalized after suffering a stroke Saturday, according to his office, and is expected to fully recover, NPR reported.

Murphy began feeling numbness in his arm while attending his son’s hockey game, his chief of staff, Allison Herwitt, said in a statement carried by PBS NewsHour. Al Jazeera reported that Murphy was alert after the stroke.

NPR highlighted the BE FAST acronym for recognizing stroke symptoms and urged people to call 911 quickly.
