Gunmen opened fire during a funeral at a Greek Orthodox church in Jordan's southern Karak area, killing at least six people and injuring dozens, according to reports and local authorities.
Deutsche Welle and Al Jazeera reported seven deaths, while the BBC said six people were killed and 28 injured. Authorities said two unidentified men opened fire on the funeral procession; survivors cited by Al Jazeera described them as masked. Jordan's national police force said the attack occurred in Karak, which has a longstanding Christian community.
Security forces were pursuing the gunmen, according to the state broadcaster, and a manhunt was under way, the BBC reported.
