President Donald Trump said Tuesday that Yemen’s Houthi group had resumed attacks on infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and was trying to raise oil prices before the U.S. midterm elections.

In a Truth Social post, Trump said the Houthis had been quiet for a long period before re-emerging. He said they were probably acting at Iran’s direction and were “purposefully trying to drive up Oil Prices, probably prior to the US Elections.”

Trump also repeated a threat that the United States could increase military attacks across the Middle East after the November elections.
