Gen. Ronald Clark, commander of U.S. Army Pacific, said Tuesday that moving Patriot missile defenses from the Indo-Pacific to support operations in the Middle East has not raised risks for U.S. forces in the region. He made the comments in a small-group interview with Fox News Digital at the Association of the United States Army’s annual conference in Washington, D.C.
Clark said the redeployments had created an opening to update systems in the Indo-Pacific. “Actually, it's given us an opportunity to modernize our systems here,” he told Fox News Digital. His comments addressed concerns that shifting defenses for the Iran war could affect U.S. readiness in a possible conflict with China.
