Research from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York found that prices for many goods made in the United States rose under President Donald Trump’s tariffs, according to Fox News reports published one month before the midterm elections.

The research said consumers have paid more not only for imported products but also for some U.S.-made items. It concluded that prices for many everyday goods would have declined last year and into early 2026 without the tariffs, Fox reported. The reports described the tariff policy as a central part of Trump’s economic agenda during his second term. Separately, the Associated Press reported that nearly 200 workers lost their jobs when clockmaker Howard Miller closed its Zeeland, Michigan, factory after relying on overseas-produced parts.
