Ryan Anderson Comments on Ken Urker's Death

Ryan Anderson, the ex-husband of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, expressed his shock upon learning of the death of Ken Urker, Blanchard's former partner. Urker, who died on his 34th birthday from a suspected overdose, was found at his home in Louisiana with drug paraphernalia and a firearm, according to a police report. Anderson shared his initial reaction during an interview on 'The Sarah Fraser Show,' stating, 'I didn’t believe it at first. I was like no. My initial thought was shock, like, ‘Hmm, how’d that happen?’' Anderson's thoughts quickly turned to Blanchard and their daughter, Aurora, born in December 2024. He expressed concern for their well-being, saying, 'My immediate thought was, ‘How’s Gypsy? How’s she doing? And what about their kid?’' Blanchard and Anderson were married in June 2022 while she was incarcerated for her involvement in the 2015 murder of her mother, Clauddine 'Dee Dee' Blanchard. They divorced in March 2024 after Blanchard's release from prison in December 2023. Following their split, Blanchard began a relationship with Urker, whom she had met while incarcerated in 2017. They became engaged in October 2018 but later separated. After reuniting in early 2024, they welcomed their daughter. Anderson noted that he and Urker had never met in person but had communicated via phone and text, describing their exchanges as not positive. Despite this, he expressed sorrow over Urker's death. Anderson mentioned that he had not spoken to Blanchard in about a year but reached out to her father, Rod Blanchard, to offer his condolences. He stated, 'I said, ‘Hey, man, I’m hearing this news. If it’s true, tell Gypsy I’m sorry. Tell her I’m here for her if she needs me.’' Blanchard released a statement expressing her disbelief over Urker's death and described him as an 'amazing father' who was deeply loved. She also highlighted the public scrutiny and cyberbullying Urker faced online. 'The cruelty directed toward him was something no human being should have to endure,' she said.
