Trump Claims to Have Left Instructions for Military Action Against Iran if Assassinated

Former President Donald Trump stated that he has left instructions for a military response against Iran should the country succeed in an assassination attempt on him. In an interview with the New York Post, Trump mentioned, "I’ve been on their list for a long time. That’s what we’re dealing with," and added that he has instructed to "literally bomb them at levels that they’ve never seen before" if anything were to happen to him. Trump noted that Iran has long sought his assassination, particularly following the 2020 U.S. drone strike that killed Iranian General Qasem Soleimani. He also referenced a recent report indicating that Israel had flagged an Iranian plot against him, stating, "No, no, Israel came up with nothing." Trump reiterated that he is Iran's primary target and discussed the ongoing tensions between the U.S. and Iran, particularly after he called off a ceasefire following Iranian attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz. He made these comments during a press conference at the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey.
