Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico returned to in-person campaigning Friday at the Austin City Limits Music Festival after an absence of nearly two weeks, his campaign and multiple news outlets reported.
Campaign spokesman JT Ennis said Talarico was speaking with voters at the festival. Videos and social media posts showed him walking through the grounds, greeting people and posing for photographs. Fox News reported that Ennis wrote on X that Talarico was alive and meeting voters at ACL. The Daily Wire said the visit lasted about 15 minutes.
Talarico said Sept. 30 that he had the flu after visiting urgent care in Dallas, according to NBC News and the Daily Wire. His campaign said he had been recovering from the illness. The absence prompted questions from Republican opponents; the Daily Wire reported that Ken Paxton had called for proof that Talarico was alive.
