U.S. authorities found debris from a medical transport plane carrying six people that disappeared early Saturday while flying from Bermuda to Boston, and the Coast Guard continued searching for survivors off Nantucket, Massachusetts.

The Federal Aviation Administration said it lost contact with the Gulfstream G-100 shortly after 1 a.m. local time, while the Coast Guard said a debris field off Nantucket was confirmed to be from the aircraft. The people aboard were four Canadian nationals and two Bermudian nationals, according to the BBC. Al Jazeera reported the Canadian-registered air ambulance carried four crew members and two passengers. The Coast Guard deployed ships, helicopters and planes, and authorities notified relatives of those aboard. The National Transportation Safety Board said it was gathering information.
